OAK KNOLL
NAPA VALLEY, CA
Nestled in the heart of wine country, this home is designed to embrace the beauty of Napa Valley. The home’s design is a modern interpretation of Napa Valley’s vernacular architecture, drawing inspiration from traditional barn structures. Stained cedar siding and natural stone ground the home in nature, reinforcing a strong connection to the surrounding landscape.
The heart of this home centers around an expansive great room that combines the kitchen, dining, and living spaces. High ceilings, floor to ceiling windows and sliding glass doors blend the boundary between indoor and outdoor living spaces. Carefully positioned windows fill the space with natural light and frame views of the vineyard beyond.
Trellises for outdoor dining and entertaining border the large patio and pool area. A two bedroom guesthouse with a large breezeway opens up to the outdoor kitchen and dining area. Close collaboration with landscape architects Roche + Roche ensured a seamless integration between architecture and landscape, bringing the outdoors in.
